The Big Bang Never Happened

The theory of the Big Bang is based on a catholic church dogma referred to as “creatio ex nihilo” (creation from nothing). It was first proposed by a catholic priest and mathematician named Georges Lemaître. His goal was to make science compatible with religion. Lemaître was invited to London in order to take part in a meeting of the British Association on the relation between the physical Universe and spirituality. There he proposed that the Universe expanded from an initial point, which he called the "Primeval Atom" and developed in a report published in Nature. Lemaître himself also described his theory as "the Cosmic Egg exploding at the moment of the creation"; it became better known as the "Big Bang theory," a term coined by Fred Hoyle.

One of the many problems with this theory is that it claims that all matter was magically created out of an abstract concept like “nothing” or “energy” or “a singularity”. All objects (matter) have a 3d shape / surface. There is no physical mechanism by which an object can appear out of nothing, nor can an object be converted into nothingness. There also is no actual evidence that such a miracle is possible. Objects can only move, that’s what they’ve been doing for all eternity. Matter cannot be created or destroyed. For example, a tree does not appear from 'nothing' (whatever that is), it grows from a seed by having more molecules added to it. Creation from nothing is an impossible miracle that never happens. The only way to 'create' something is to use existing materials. Like using wood to create a house, for example.

Another problem with the Big Bang theory is that it reifies the concept “space” into a physical object which can expand. First they claim that space is matterless, and then they say that this matterless concept is expanding. Concepts such as space, time, love, justice, adventure, etc. cannot expand, only an object such as a balloon is capable of expanding. The scientific establishment uses a phenomena known as “redshift” to try and support this nonsense. However, astronomer Halton Arp has shown evidence that low redshift galaxies are connected to high redshift quasars. This finding contradicts the idea that redshift is always a reliable indicator of distance. As the vibration that we perceive as 'light' propagates through it's medium, it eventually weakens, especially while having to pass through various gases and plasmas and will therefore shift to the red spectrum. Incidentally, this also explains why the night sky isn't filled with infinite star light. It's because light vibrations don't propagate forever, they come in contact with objects which cause the vibration to weaken. So this “expansion of space” idea is based off of the mathematician’s irrational interpretation of redshift.

The so called “Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation” is also used as evidence, even though this has absolutely nothing to do with the Big Bang. The CMB is just the temperature of the observable universe and temperature is a concept which we use to measure the motion of matter. What this really means is that there is a physical medium of vibrating particles. Ironically, a lot of pre-Big Bang theories actually 'predicted' the temperature of the observable universe much more accurately than the big bang theory did. So the CMB cannot be used as evidence for a Big Bang.

So, lets review. The Big Bang theory relies on reifying abstract concepts and claims that all matter was created out of nothing. In addition to this, there is absolutely no evidence to support this nonsense. The only rational conclusion is that the universe is infinite and eternal.

You've pretty much summed up everything that is explained in this youtube video series I came across recently... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yTfRy0LTD0

It paints a pretty woefully picture of the current state of comsmological study, especially in the US. Such religious defence of the Big Bang theory has been holding back progress in our understanding of the universe for decades.

Again, more superb writing! I Facebooked this one :)

One small nitpicky suggestion for improvement though if I may be so bold...

It's not that the universe is "infinite"; rather that matter is *eternal* (time-less) since time is only an abstraction.

The stupid clowns in Mathematical Physics say that numbers are "infinite"! When they probably mean that counting is incessant (ongoing)! But they then converted the adjective "infinite" into the noun "infinity", so it gets even worse.

Doesn't it make you want to vomit at how much propaganda and surrealism has corrupted our common sense understanding of science and physics?

Oh yeah, my use of the word "infinite" is not quite the same as in mathematics. I use the word infinite as a synonym for never ending. You're right that there is no number infinity. When I say that the universe is infinite, I mean that there is a never ending amount of matter in all directions, both microscopically and macroscopically.

Hi, I think the trouble is nobody really knows, the learn one thing, then something else will suddenly be discovered and then it all changes, maybe one day we will all find out, interesting hub thanks nell

This is a load of balhooey rhetoric in an attempting to discredit scientists to add credence to what you believe.

Science does not start from belief. It starts from the question "I do not know!" and then works its way out from there. Using this methodology they have learned a lot more than they would have if they thought they already knew the answers, like you seem to.

JMacD,

"This is a load of balhooey rhetoric in an attempting to discredit scientists to add credence to what you believe. Science does not start from belief."

What the?... Who the hell said anything about "belief". You either did not read this article or didn't pay attention.

owh please don't be fooled by these stupid post,,Big Band did happen before we are created..there is too many evidences that proves the activity of Big Bang...make a research and you will find that the volume of Big Bang is absolutely 0. So this means that this world is made from nothing, is created ok?? this is just some atheist that used to fool themselves not to accept the truth

anonymous,

"volume of Big Bang is absolutely 0"

And what exactly is that supposed to be? Since when can anything have "0 volume" (no shape). All real things have shape, anonymous. If "Big Bang" has no shape then 'it' definitely does not exist.

"So this means that this world is made from nothing, is created ok??"

To create essentially means to rearrange matter into different shapes (e.g. rearranging wood to create a table). Obviously there's no such thing as 'no-thing', so how are you going to create any-thing from 'it'?

The fact that LeMaitre was a priest doesn't necessarily mean that the Big Bang was a catholic theory. It took decades for the Catholic church to accept it.

You also misuderstand and misrepresent a lot of terms and concepts. For example, you say that scientists claim that space is matterless but can expand, and then claim that that is a contradiction. I don't know which scientists claim space is matterless (some names or citations would lend you some credidibility). Space can be matterless, or it can be filled with matter. Depends on where in the 'verse you are. But also, with dark matter, even space that was thought to be empty might in fact be filled. This theory is still developing, but there is a growing body of evidence for it. You might want to try reading a bit. I suggest Mano Singham's blog series "The Big Bang for Beginners."

twosheds1,

"The fact that LeMaitre was a priest doesn't necessarily mean that the Big Bang was a catholic theory."

Not entirely. But it is clear that Lemaitre had a biased agenda in favor of creation and religion.

"you say that scientists claim that space is matterless but can expand, and then claim that that is a contradiction."

That is a contradiction. And yes, some (but not all) of the mainstream really do think that there is matterless space. But then there are others who claim that "the vacuum" is comprised of "virtual particles" that pop in and out of existence. But both of these ideas (matterless space and virtual particles) are irrational.

"Space can be matterless, or it can be filled with matter."

Not really. There is no "matterless space". Just matter made of smaller matter which is made of smaller matter which is made of smaller matter, ad infinitum. Infinitely small matter and infinitely large matter. This means that there is neither "solid matter" nor "empty space".

"with dark matter, even space that was thought to be empty might in fact be filled."

I actually don't have a problem with dark matter theory. But this is basically the same thing as what used to be called "the aether". The main difference is that "dark matter" is not considered to be the medium that 'light waves' propagate through. Instead, the mainstream now has a contradictory theory called "wave/particle duality" and the wave motion is now thought to propagate through... nothing. Matterless motion. Which of course is very illogical to say the least.

Now anyway, even if "expanding space" is just used as a metaphor for "matter moving away from each other", then there's still no reason to think this either. There is certainly no evidence for this and there is also no explanation for how the entire "known universe" expanded from a tiny dot that's smaller than the period at the end of this sentence. Big Bang theory is non-causal, irrational and counterintuitive.

I guess it all depends on what you define as matter and what you define as space.
